Terms of Use

Effective June 10, 2026

Illumid is a companion for your daily time in the Word — never a substitute for Scripture itself, your church, or your pastor.

What Illumid is

Illumid offers a brief daily encounter with Scripture: a passage from the English Standard Version, a devotional reflection, and a prayer, personalized to where you are in your walk. By using Illumid, you agree to these terms.

AI-generated content

The devotional and prayer content in each encounter is composed by an artificial intelligence model, guided by a theological framework rooted in historic Reformed evangelical convictions. While we work carefully to keep this content faithful to Scripture, it is generated content, not the counsel of a pastor, elder, or counselor. Test everything against Scripture itself (1 Thessalonians 5:21), and bring questions of doctrine and life to the leadership of your local church. Illumid does not provide professional, medical, psychological, or crisis counseling.

Your account and your content

You may use Illumid anonymously or link an email address to carry your history across devices. The reflections you write are yours; you grant us only the limited right to store and display them back to you as part of the service. You are responsible for keeping access to your linked email secure.

Acceptable use

You agree not to misuse the service — including attempting to access another person’s data, probing or disrupting our systems, using automated tools to generate encounters in bulk, or using the service for any unlawful purpose. We may suspend accounts that abuse the service.

Availability

Illumid is offered as-is, and we cannot promise uninterrupted availability. We encourage you to hold the app loosely — the habit it serves matters more than the app itself.

Disclaimer and limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by law, Illumid is provided without warranties of any kind, express or implied, and our total liability arising from your use of the service is limited to the amount you have paid us in the twelve months before the claim (which, for a free service, is zero). Nothing in these terms limits liability that cannot lawfully be limited.

Changes and governing law

We may update these terms as the service grows; the effective date above will always reflect the current version, and significant changes will be noted in the app. These terms are governed by the laws of the State of South Carolina, United States.
